The Ultimate Advice To Ensure Your Wedding Day Is Everything You’ve Dreamed Of
Planning a wedding can be a stressful process. By the time the big day actually rolls around, our minds are often consumed with details surrounding itineraries, vows and flower arrangements. After all the planning, you just want things to go perfectly!
To help make sure your wedding day is everything you’ve dreamed of and more, we’ve put together some advice for every couple on their wedding day.
Have a Photo Plan
There’s a good chance you’ve created many plans for your big day, but we recommend a specific photo plan being one of them. Spend some time before your wedding thinking about your photos. Are there any specific photos you want to have? How will you group family shots? Do you have any ideas for your couple portraits?
Once you have an idea of your must-have photos, consider the practical elements for the big day. When will you have your photos done? Will family shots be completed before or after your ceremony? How will you entertain guests while photos are being taken? Have a chat with your photographer and develop a comprehensive plan, then leave it with them! They can take charge on the day, giving you one less thing to worry about.
Remember to Eat
Nobody’s happy when they’re hungry and you don’t want to be miserable on your wedding day! It can be difficult to find time to eat with pre-wedding nerves, your ceremony and then endless socialising, but this is something worth prioritising. Even if you don’t get to sit down for your meal, make sure to have some snacks on hand so that your energy levels remain high and you are sustained for the entire day.
Don’t Forget About After the Wedding
We can become so immersed in the details of the wedding that we forget to make plans for afterwards. Who is responsible for packing up? Who will look after your gifts? How will you get home? Make sure you understand what the venue is responsible for and the tasks you will have to allocate to family or the bridal party. If you are leaving straight for your honeymoon, remember to bring your bags!
Thank Your Guests
It’s standard practice for the Best Man and Maid of Honour to make a toast, but the Bride and Groom (or at least one of you) should also take a short moment to address your guests. After all, these are the people you’ve chosen to share your special day – make sure they feel appreciated.
Enjoy It!
We’re sure you’ve heard it before, but your wedding day goes by so quickly. After months and months of planning and reviewing every little detail to make sure everything goes perfectly, the actual day will be over before you know it. Carve out time amongst the chaos to enjoy your day with your partner. It might be a quiet moment after photos or an extended slow dance, but either way, you’ll be glad you took a moment to enjoy each other’s company and take it all in.
