Modern Chuppah Inspiration
If you are planning a Jewish wedding one of the most important and fun decisions you will have to make is how to style your wedding chuppah. A chuppah, also referred to as huppah, chipe, chupah, or chuppa, is a canopy under which a Jewish couple stand during their wedding ceremony. It consists of a cloth or sheet, sometimes a tallit, stretched or supported over four poles, or sometimes manually held up by attendants to the ceremony. A chuppah symbolizes the home that the couple will build together.
This is the official definition from Wikipedia but we wanted to know how modern-day couples are redefining today’s chuppah by incorporating your own style or wedding theme.
Creative Ways Today’s Couples Are Designing Their Wedding Chuppah
Modern Yet Classic Chuppah
If you are planning a modern black and white wedding and want to have a sophisticated, classic décor for your wedding chuppah this is a great idea! Adorn a beautiful swath of laser-cut fabric over your chuppah. This real bride and groom opted for a laser-cut design rented from the Chuppah Studio that resembles lace. A Floral Explosion Chuppah
This creative couple wanted to change things up! Keeping with traditions they wanted to be married under a wedding chuppah, what they didn’t want was it to look like everyone else’s. They put their creative minds to work and turned the chuppah décor upside down (kind of). Most of the time we see couples decorating the top with flowers and fabric. For a modern take on the wedding chuppah, this couple decorated the bottom of each stave with the most gorgeous and vibrant dahlias, peonies and rose flowers. Cheers to them for being unique!
